Sky News host Rita Panahi has slammed “violent” trans activists who disrupted a pro-women rally in Melbourne over the weekend. Footage shows police officers clashing with demonstrators, using capsicum spray when some activists tried to break through a police line. Ms Panahi said the fact police needed to protect these women in the first place “is a problem in itself” in Victoria. “At the moment, we are allowing this small group of agitators to cause enormous disruption, waste police resources, and there doesn’t seem to be much accountability for most of it,” Ms Panahi said. Two women were arrested in Melbourne’s CBD following the women’s rights rally.
